Mom was in the kitchen cooking a Christmas Eve breakfast when I woke up. Through the aroma’s I could make out the smell of fried bacon, buttermilk biscuits, and Moravian sugar cake. As I drifted into the kitchen, still half asleep, Mom turned and smiled as I did the same. â€Å"Good morning, Charlie. Are you ready for breakfast? I cooked some blueberry pancakes for you and your brothers,† came cheerfully from Mom’s mouth. â€Å"I was going to wait for James and William to get out of bed.† Then I turned to Dad who was reading the paper in the den, â€Å"Dad, have you eaten yet?† â€Å"I ate a piece of sugar cake, but other than that, no.† â€Å"Oh, ok.† I then looked back at Mom and responded with, â€Å"I can wait, so we can sit down together to eat.† I proceeded into the den where I took a seat on the couch with Dad. I sprawled out with my head on my father’s lap, trying to go back to sleep, but he wanted to play. As he tickled me and I would try to fight it, but I never had any luck because of his strength compared to mine. â€Å"Quit,† I yelped with agonizing despair. â€Å"MOM! Get Dad off of me!† â€Å"Jimmy quit bothering him. He just woke up and I don’t want you to wake up the boys.† â€Å"It’s time for them to get out of bed, anyway,† Dad said with a stern voice (trying to make it sound that he is the man of the house. â€Å"Charlie, why don’t you and I go wake up William and James.† â€Å"Ok, but I’m not waking James because he will beat me up,† I said to my Dad to make sure that my oldest brother wouldn’t get angry with me. As we walked up the steps I was astounded with the joyful fulfillment of waking my brothers. It was as if it was the highlight of the day. Dad and I walked into my brothers’ room, anticipating that they might wake up. As Dad crept up on James, I was closing in on William. Moreover, a better approach would be to seek to focus upon the message without polarizing it and seeking to have it intimately related to the original speaker or his/her own vantage point. Lastly, and perhaps most specifically, I oftentimes attempt to polarize situations into firmly determinant shades of good/bad/right/wrong etc. These levels of polarization serve to lessen my ability to analyze and draw inference from a number of situations; it ultimately weakens my skill in interpreting the world around me. As a function of these 5 polarizations that have been listed, the most effective way to engage them is to seek to lessen the effect that they play on my everyday life and as a means of understanding them, seek to work to overcome them. It was published in 2002 in Medsurg Nursing because the virus itself was becoming more and more of a threat to the public welfare. In order to fully understand the virus and its complex makeup, extensive research and case studies had to be made. After years of tracking the virus and its origins, tests conducted on how it was transferred from host to host and how exactly the public in general can protect itself from deadly viruses established a research base for further studies. The New York West Nile epidemic brought a lot of attention to the forgotten lethal virus. The virus is carried by the common North American mosquito. Viruses have existed among us for many years, and cause many very deadly outbreaks all across the globe. The virus can rapidly spread throughout an area in no time; host-to-host it spreads like a wild fire. The authors tell us that it is more than likely that we will see more cases of the virus across the United States as it is now widespread. Scientists tell us that the West Nile virus originated in Africa in 1937 and the first reported epidemic was reported in Israel. It is not known exactly how the virus reached Israel from Africa. The virus can also be found in animals, increasing the chances that a mosquito could land on an animal with the virus, infect it, and continue to carry the virus on to another host.

Is Money an Effective Motivator at Work?

When I saw this topic, my first reaction is yes. Because we are all work for money, which could support our family, for eating, dressing, traveling, shopping and so on. To be honest, money could bring everything, including happiness. So it is impossible for someone to work hard without money. But after second thought, I realized that there are some other motivators of work, such as self-interest, social status, or some other reasons. About working is for money and power, the impetus of ordinary workers is inseparable from the topic. Intermediate managers, especially Chinese, insist that money is the most powerful force. All things are obedient to money,really? Money – poor credit card, is it always a powerful motivator of performance? Theorists of Authoritative organization think that the policy with sticks and carrot can make the workers work, this type of carrot-and-stick could really use in the industrial revolution. Most economists who hold the concept of â€Å"economic man† has a similar view. To these views, Psychologist’s reactions are very strong. They cited some surveys as evidence. What is the most important factor? When the workers were asked about the work of judgment, â€Å"pay† generally is in the sixth, located after safety, colleagues at work, tastes, benefits, etc. Recently, some other survey found that pension and other benefits are of importance than salary. But money is not the only power. Work safety, fitting, a caring environment is motivation. About the power of work, I discussed with some classmates who have been working for several months. In the process of chat, students think work environment including leadership, colleagues and environment construction, people always think a good leader is the greatest power, their work colleagues of harmony and comfortable working environment is the premise that oneself like work, have harmonious environment is happy. When it comes to work, students from better family condition don not care for salary; while from poor families generally care salary a lot.
